Trigger tha Gambler is then you got to be under 25. Trigger tha Gambler, half of the Smith Brothers, has been in the game for over 15 years. He and his brother Smoothe da Hustler broke into the rap game in the early 90s and they made a huge impact on Hip Hop since their number one single, “Broken Language” hit the air waves 1995. Trigger, as he’s widely known, is an exceptionally skilled and intelligent rapper from the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York.

In 1995, Trigger and Smoothe released their nationally acclaimed number one hit record, “Broken Language” which was produced by D.R. Period on Next Level Records. Trigger was soon signed to Def Jam Records, where he began production of his highly anticipated ablum, “Life is a 50/50 Gamble”.

While on Def Jam, Trigger contributed to the soundtrack for the movie, The Nutty Professor (Def Jam, 1996), called “My Crew Can’t Go For That”.. Also, he was featured on the all-star remix for “Anything” by SWV.
Life’s A 50/50 Gamble never made it to retail, although promotional copies were sent to reviewers with a release date in March 1998. Trigger and Def Jam parted ways that same year. Then came the birth of SMG Entertainment; an independent label he started along with brother Smoothe da Hustler and long time friend Ice-T.
